Meet Vangeli!


Vangeli Tsompanidis is a Greek/Puerto Rican actor/writer from Orlando, Florida. Now based in New York City, he has performed in various regional productions, short films, and cabarets. He ascribes to bring a sense of wonder and whimsy to his work.

Vangeli holds a degree in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University, where he was a member of the President’s Leadership Class and the student assistant to the Director of Opera and Musical Theatre, Dr. Herendeen. Upon moving to the city, Vangeli studied advanced on-camera acting at HB Studio in Greenwich Village. Most recently, he co-starred in the short film “Threads” which streamed at the Museum of Moving Image.

Vangeli is also a passionate writer. His original feature screenplay, Imposter Syndrome, was named a semi finalist for both the Final Draft Big Break Screenwriting Competition and the Scriptation Showcase, as well as a Quarter Finalist for the International Screenwriting Association Fast Track Fellowship. He was quoted by Final Draft as ‘having a clear knack for comedy” and his work was referenced as “beautifully written with humor, heart, and plenty of emotional detail, allowing us to connect with the characters in a deeper way.” His dream is to one day star in his work.

Outside his creative endeavors, you can find Vangeli bouldering, running, roller-skating, or reading Tarot cards/Palms. He is an avid Pokémon fan and can guess whatever Pokémon you are thinking of (Gen 1 through 5) in 20 questions. Recently, he worked as a high school theatre teacher in Manhattan where he created his own curriculum, directed one acts, and featured his students work in various festivals. He also is an active volunteer for the Hellenic Film Society.
